My name is Ron Krielen and I am a young pragmatic idealist with a vision + a degree in design.
Compassion is one of the most important words in my vocabulary, optimism is another.
My optimism means: “All problems can be solved”. It does not mean: “Everything is all right”.
Since 2009 I have worked as a Taxi driver for elderly and handicapped people. This has supported me in my daily life, while giving me a sense of commitment, and being of value to others.
In 2008 I started my studies at Design Academy Eindhoven.
In 2012 I did my internship in Moldova for a Humanitarian Aid organization from Belgium.
My tasks were to Document (Film & Photo) and Report (Research & Write).
I wanted to broaden my perspective and confirm my existing ideas about the aid for the bottom of the pyramid. As a person I grew a lot in this period of time.
In 2013 I graduated with my project called ‘Two Hats’
With this project I expanded my role as a taxi driver for elderly and handicapped, translating the stories and problems I heard in the taxi, and communicating them to society as questions to be answered and problems to be solved.
I was granted the Connector Award for this project in december 2013.
Since graduating my focus has been on networking and setting up my company while further developing my personal projects and doing volunteering to develop my skills in teaching, coaching and organising. In the beginning of 2015 I joined my friends Conor Trawinksi and
Minsung Wang at the Corner Spot to be involved in all the nice local social-design projects.
As well as being the third member of Studio Mashed (Photo, Film, Web)
